How to activate mac if I get the error "Failed to create activation request"

My daughter was on her computer and she entered the find application and saw my wife's macbook air a1466 in her account and she hit delete, she entered a code, fortunately she gave it to me immediately, but when I hit activate my mac, I follow the steps.

1. enter the code.

2. then a mac activation screen appears and it tells me to choose the administrator user and enter the password, I enter the password.

3. when I hit continue I immediately get an error "failed to created activation request."

I don't know what to do to recover it without losing the information.? help please. video of the error

Troubleshooting Apple Installs:

There is an error connecting to Apple's server. It seems you are using Internet Recovery Mode. So...


A. Try Ethernet...

If there is an Ethernet connection, then you'd need an adapter, likely this one: Belkin USB-C to 2.5Gb Ethernet Adapter - Apple


B. Use a Private Network:

If you are using, public LAN, then you may be limited to resources. So, if using a public LAN, then use the one at your house --a private LAN.


C. Restart your Router:

Poor off your router for 30 seconds, and the power it back on. With DHCP, you'd be assigned an available IP address.
