StorNext 7.0.1 server connection & performance issue with macOS 15.1.1 Xsan client

Hi everyone,

I just installed a macOS 15.1.1 Xsan client which is connected to a Quantum StorNext 7.0.1 filesystem.

Mounting a SAN volume takes very long and the write performance is only about 30MB/s, while the same setup on a macOS 13.7 machine delivers more than 300MB/s.

In addition, navigating the filesystem through larger folder structures takes very long.

I can see all LUNs on the command-line, DNS and LDAP is working fine with very low latency, metadata network is set up fine, too.

I see that macOS 15.1.1 uses StorNext Client Revision 7.2.0 while macOS 13.7 uses StorNext Client Revision 7.1.0. Might the reason for the issues be that the StorNext version in Sequoia is too new for the Server StorNext version?

If yes, does someone here have experience with Sequoia and StorNext with a later StorNext server version?

I'd appreciate your help and thoughts about it.

André
