Track stopping 40 seconds before end on iPod classic

Hi

I use an iPod classic 7th generation for work (fitness instructor) so have thousands of tracks. I’ve just added a track to a playlist and it plays fine on the Mac via iTunes but one the iPod is stops 40 secs or so before the end.

I’ve tried reimporting the track and re syncing and it’s the same.

Other tracks seem fine (though obvs I’ve not checked them all!)

I did restart the iPod too but that didn’t help.

I checked the file settings and the stop time is the end of the track so that shouldn’t be the issue?

any ideas? I really need this track to play in full
