I bought a used macbook air (early 2015). I couldn't see the time machine icon when I was setting up a new external hard disk for it, so I searched it and the icon popped up in the middle of my screen. I cannot move it or delete it. Any ideas? Not to be confused with showing it in the dock. This just sits there mid-screen.

It could help the community to know which MacOS version is installed on your Mac, in order to help troubleshoot.
Eg: You may (or may not) be able to change a setting so the icon shows in the top menu bar instead
