Apple Superdrive is not recognized

I believe there is a disk in my apple superdrive but when I connect it to my iMac the superdrive isn't recognized?

How can I even remove the disk if the drive isn't recognized?

iMac 24″, macOS 15.1

Basically, you have very few options in this case. Do you have a friend or relative with a Mac that you can try using this SuperDrive with? Alternately, you can visit your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and they should be able to assist you with this.

So how are you connecting it to your iMac? Using a port on the iMac itself or a port on a USB Hub connected to your iMac? It only works when plugged directly into a USB port on the iMac, not any hub port.
