Any word re: next iPad release?
I’m retired and on a limited income. I have a 5th gen iPad. I would like to upgrade to a newer iPad but don’t want to buy now if a new release is about to be launched.

Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Other than information published by Apple, nobody here has any insight into Apple’s product release roadmap.
Apple generally doesn't pre-announce new device models - iPad or otherwise. Given that the iPad Pro M2, Air M2 and mini A17 Pro have already been announced and are current models, it is perhaps unlikely that the current entry-level iPad10 will be replaced anytime soon.
