AppleCare+ Billing Issue

I updated my billing/card information in my Apple account (via Settings App > Apple ID > Payment & Shipping) but AppleCare is not charging the card I added in there. The previous registered card was cancelled. I am still getting emails about the unsuccessful billing attempts but do not want to lose AppleCare on the device. What else do I need to do?
