Some messages not showing

On my new iPhone16 (restored via iTunes) some previous messages aren’t showing but are there when search and then show for about a day and then disappear again. This only happens to some but not all green messages and some but not all messages from non-phone numbers. I noticed 2 of the disappearing green ones show rcs in the typing space, but I checked settings and that setting is toggled on.
