Command + click does not select multiple items in Notes anymore

I recently switched from a 2016 MacBook Pro to the new 2024 M4 Pro.

With my previous laptop, I could Command+click in Notes to select multiple snippets of text or items in a list and copy or drag them. On my new laptop, this no longer works; it selects only the next item without retaining the previous selection.

This issue seems specific to Notes, as Command+click functions correctly in other applications and allows me to select multiple notes within Notes itself. It appears this feature was removed in the latest software update.

Does anyone know how to restore this functionality? If not, could the developers please consider reintroducing it?

I used this function extensively, and it saved me a significant amount of time.
