Iphone flipping photo orientation from portrait to landscape
Using iphone 13 Max with most recent IOS update.
This problem is continuing. This original question (shown below) was asked in 2022. Have turned portrait orientation lock ON and OFF multiple times and photos continue to be saved in landscape mode, even though photo was taken in portrait orientation (i.e. phone is held with top of phone up and bottom of phone down). Every single picture taken from an overhead view with top of camera facing straight out and bottom of camera facing towards body (very carefully, holding phone level and even), results in a photo saved to photos in landscape orientation (exactly opposite of what is shown in viewfinder when photo is originally taken).
It is not within my time ability to go in a straight every single photo manually back into the orientation in which it was taken. This is something that used to work properly and now does not. It is not an isolated incident and has been happening with every single photo taken in the way described above.
Have contacted phone customer service and they have no answer. Please, please can someone help with this problem. It is causing undo workload and frustration.
Thanking you in advance for any advice you can provide.

iphone pictures rotate from orientation applied while taking photos

iphone 6s ios 15.4.1
When I take photos I decide how I like the layout to become either portrait or landscape as I am taking the photos. I will take a bunch of photos trying to get a job done and when I go into the pictures folder on the phone those photos have all been rotated 90 degrees unexpectedly away from the orientation I wished.
To understand better what I am trying to convey here we must agree that the phone orientation is tall as it sit in your hand and not long or horizontal as it might be used at times.
How do we prevent the iphone from changing the postion of the picture as they have been framed in the native camera app as the pictures were taken?
Thanks for your time in advance!
