transferring photos to frame, but not deleting from phone

I have a photo frame i transfer my iphone photos to. Once transferred, I want to retain some of them on my phone. But then the next time I transfer, the retained photos are duplicated.

Is there a way to keep photos on the phone and not having them duplicated upon next transfer to the photo frame?
