I’m trying to export a video “made with Videoshop” that is 50 minutes long to a sd card via a card reader. I keep getting the message The operation couldn’t be completed. File too large.
I’ve tried the export the unmodified original thing and that is the message I get. Getting very frustrated!!!
Use /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app
This will show all drives attached to your system. Selecting the SD card in the sidebar will show you information about it, including the partition type and format. If it says FAT32, then there's your problem (FAT disks can only support individual files up to 4GB in size).
You can reformat the drive in Disk Utility using the Erase button in the tab bar.
Use ExFAT (Extended FAT) if you intend to use this drive on non-MacOS systems. Use either APFS or MacOS Extended if it's Mac-only (Windows systems won't be able to read the disk).

How is the SD card formatted? t
Normally they are formatted FAT 32. That format can only store a file up to 4 GB in size.
ExFAT formatted memory cards can store files up to 280,000 TB which is more than any memory card can handle.
So if the card is FAT 32 reformat it to exFAT or OSX Extended (journaled) [if only for use with Macs].
Not sure how the card is “formatted” but it is a 16GB card.
Select the card on the Desktop and do a ⌘+i to get the Info window for the drive. It will tell you what the format is.
