ipad 9th generation only load up to restore screen

My iPad 9th generation is stuck on the restore screen. When connected to my MacBook it connects, I see it as a location in the finder, but the actual finder window is blank, no options, no prompts, just blank, so I have no way of communicating with the ipad. Not sure what to do. Before this happened I was in DFU mode trying to restore it and it didn't complete, it gave me an error. So I suspect it got stuck in the middle of a process and no ios was reloaded on it. Not sure what to do.
