Mail (Monterey) not moving Blocked Addresses to Trash

Setting:

Mail --> Preferences --> Junk Mail --> Blocked --> Enable Blocked Mail Filtering --> When email from blocked address arrives: --> Move it to Trash

Previously Blocked Addresses do not go to Trash but appear in Junk mailbox

Same issue has appeared in earlier posts but no resolution to date.

Any suggestions much appreciated!
