CarPlay connection unreliable after update to iOS18 on iPhone 14

just got a new 2025 Subaru forester that supports Apple CarPlay and after updating my iPhone 14 Pro Max to iOS 18 I’ve been having to keep unpairing and repairing my iPhone to my car because of a potential bug from the iOS 18. I’ve know very real that my Subaru is not the cause of this problem. I blame both my iPhone and the iOS 18.
