Mac Mail Priority Inbox not working as expected

On macOS Sequoia (15.1 (24B83)) emails that are marked as priority are not responding to a click. I.e. when I click on other emails, it loads the email body in the right hand pane, but when clicking on a Priority message, that pane stays blank and just displays "No Message Selected".

Is this the intended behavior or could this be a bug? It would obviously be much more useful if you can actually read the messages that are the highest priority. :)

This *seems* like a bug or unintended behavior, since mail app on iOS does allow priority messages to display when tapped. I have 3 Macs all running macOS 15.1 and all behave the way you describe. Clicking a priority message does not display the message. I hope this changes in the future!
