AirPods Max turns off at some point

When using AirPods Max headphones, the right earbud with the buttons turns off at some point, but the left earbud still works for a while (regardless of removing the headphones or not with auto-head detection on and off). Then it turns on again, but instead of connecting to the phone, the headphones are connected to the MacBook. Could it be that some of the head detection sensors are going crazy, because it usually happens when I'm moving (but not always)?
