New iCloud terms. This action could not be completed at this time

Hi all

This morning my iPad pro 10.5 inch required me to agree new iCloud terms. I clicked on continue and got the message as shown in the subject.

i first tried updating iPad os to latest one available (17.7.1). Same message. Also restarted with no improvement.

i tried signing out of iCloud. Same message. And same message after signing back in again.

any ideas on how to fix this? I currently cant even provide a screenshot as it only shows as low resolution in photos. (As do any new photos i take). Cant access any other iCloud data either

thanks.

edit. Screenshot now ok. Attched.

Hi

I have an update for you. I contacted support using the link here:

https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=home&PRKEYS=

Selected my device then started a chat. It didn’t take long for chat to realise they didn’t have a solution, so arranged for a support callback.

Support called back, and I was on the phone for about half an hour.

First I demonstrated (via remote viewing) the problem, and showed up to date IpadOS

Then we deleted VPN networks, restarted and tried again.

Then we deleted network settings, restarted, then tried again.

Then we logged onto iCloud.com with safari, accepted terms and conditions there, restarted and tried again.

After this, I still have the notification that doesn’t work,  but I can now access iCloud.

It is possible the tech did something to my iCloud.com account to make me accept the conditions there - if so, then you’ll need to contact support for this to work.

Since I still have the notification, the tech said I should reset my Ipad to factory conditions using a computer as described here:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings using a computer - Apple Support

It might be this is all that is needed. If you go down this route though, make sure you take a backup of your device as described in the article step 2. The reset WILL erase everything off your device.

Hello Tony,

My daughter's iPhone 11, running iOS 17.7.1, is showing the same exact error message, but I haven't found any appropriate answer to offer her. I don't even know if it's something related to that specific iOS version or something different.

Let's hope some fellow "genius" in this Community can help us out.

Have a nice day.

Giulio
