I moved a Word doc (via flashdrive) from my Mac Mini running Ventura (latest version) to Sonoma (ditto) on my Mac Air. Strange things started happening, text disappearing, or replacing other text further along, a file reverting to a previous version. Could the transfer between two OSs be the problem? Another thought was the track pad, which I find difficult to use when composing.

Something else must have happened. We have Macs on High Sierra, Big Sur, Monterey, Sonoma here and move Word files back and forth all the time and see no issues. We also exchange files at work between different MacOS versions as well as Windows with no issues. The Word file format has not changed in a number of years, but the MacOS itself does not modify Word files, only Word does.
