AirPods Pro gen.2 right ear started crackling then died

I hadn’t done anything to the AirPods, just picked them up normally and put them in my ear, when the right ear started crackling very loud, I assumed something was very wrong, so I put them both back inside the case and I “forgot device” on the iPhone and factory reset using the button.

after resetting, the AirPod was pretty warm, if that means anything.

now the iPhone can no longer find or recognize the iPhone, and when I put them in my ear, the right AirPod is unable to be clicked on the stem, showing no life.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with this headphones and what did you do? Do I have a case for a manufacturing defect?
