Blurry Preview images on zoom

I recently upgraded my iMac to Sequoia. I have existing TIFF and JPEG images of maps that previously opened in Preview with no issues. Now, however, when opened they become blurry on zooming in making them useless. I have other images that seem to be fine. I cannot find any commonality on the bad images based on size or format. I refer to these images a lot, so not having them available is a problem.
