CarPlay - shows me driving off road!

In Maps, Waze and Google Maps CarPlay quite often doesn’t show my position accurately and for maybe 15-20 shows me driving off road.

To remove a few possibilities:-

1. I used CarPlay for 4 yrs in my last car with my iPhone 13 (always with latest iOS) and it was never an issue
2. Out of the car the gps seems to know where I am exactly
3. The car gps positions me exactly

I’ve read others having this issue but never found a solution. Today I tried rebooting the phone and it seemed to help. I think this begun on ios17
