Time Zone issues with calendar subscriptions in ical

Hi

I am based in CET (GMT+1) but subscribe to several calendar feeds that are in GMT. When I set my calendar to CET some of my GMT calendar feeds automatically change to CET. I don't want to override the time zone universally as I need to be able to see other events in CET. Is this a problem I can fix or is it to do with the administrators of the calendar feeds?

Thanks!

Hi Sophia,

Do you have Time Zone Support turned on? This works for calendars you own, but I've never seen it tested for subscribed calendars sourced from a different time zone, but it ought to work.

When you turn it on all the events in your calendar present at the time of the time zone you have chosen from the list at the top of the application window, and this is regardless of the time zone in which the events were set originally. There is an image for this list in the page I've linked above.

You can access this control from the Calendar settings > Advanced.

Hi David

thanks so much for your response. I’ve tried that but these calendar feeds don’t retain their original zone, they just switch time depending on which zone I set for my calendar at that moment.

i do have some calendar feeds which do display their GMT time in brackets so I’m starting g to conclude that it must be to do with the calendar owner fixing a time zone setting.

frustrating!
