CarPlay text notifications missing in 2024 Cadillac XT4

Recently got a new car. 2024 Cadillac XT4. iPhone 16 pro & iOS 18.1

if someone sends me a text, a notification with their name and picture would usually show at the top of the screen, I can then tap on it, and Siri will read me their message.

I don’t see that at all. If I hear the chime that I received a text, I have to pull up CarPlay, then tap on the messages app, then tap their info.
