No internet connection on new Mac Studio after migration

new mac studio, M2 max, OSX Sonoma, just completed migration from iMac, all appears same as iMac, except no internet connection via WiFi or ethernet. My old iMac is still working good as new. Tried different browser (Firefox) no go.

The imac next to the studio is working, the new studio does not, ethernet or Wifi. Have owned many macs but this is a new one. Hardware or OSX issue?

Had already run Etrecheck, no issues. Rand apple diagnostics, it found no issues. I had yet to install VPN on this computer, but on the imac it is running with no connection issues as stated before. Apple support via phone is not available now, have to use text messaging only. Monterey (on imac) has no connection issues, but Studio using Sonoma seems to be the the origin. This Studio is a refurb, perhaps it slipped through the cracks.

While on hold with Apple phone support I thought I'd look to see if I missed anything. I noted that VPN was active on my old iMac with no issues, I tried to find it in Sonoma, but it wasn't at the top as is usual with the imac. I finally found in Settings-network-that VPN had been loaded three times, but only one was active. When I switched it off and turned my attention, I then noticed it has switched itself back on automatically. After de-configuration, suddenly I had a good internet connection, both wifi and ethernet. Problem solved although it had not been an issue with Monterey.

Thanks again for your assistance.
