voice notes keep pausing during recording

Recently when ever I am recording a voice note in voice memos it will pause the recording after every 2-3 mins. Once I tap the screen it then starts recording again. This has never happened before. I put my phone on airplane mode, my iOS is up to date, I’ve checked settings. This is so frustrating as I used vn for meetings at work and I can’t keep tapping an whole hour
