Mac Pro 2009-2012 CPU tray interchangable?

I was just testing a 2009 processor tray in a 2010 and a 2010 processor tray in a 2009. In both cases, it seems to work fine except the fan blows full force nonstop. Is this some sort of heat sync issue? Both units have the 5.1 Model Identifier (Why I’m doing this is a long story)

Might be a heat SENSOR issue. They are all over the innards of Macs. Should the System detect a failed or missing heat sensor, it ramps up the fans to full speed to compensate and avod overheating. Sameif it is fins a fan not working/

Have you run Apple Hardware Test? It is very good at detecting sensor errors. This outside resource shows how to read any error codes that results:

The two code prefixes that best fit your description are 4SNS, a sensor error, or 4MOT, a cooling fan motor fault.

the actual problem is not a fault, it is caused by the solution to a weird startup problem.

The System Management [micro-] Controller was needed at startup by BOTH the Processor card assembly and the mainboard, but BEFORE the two were talking to each other. Apple's solution what to replicate this part and its firmware, and it appears on BOTH. Everything else works fine until, you place two mis-matched versions together, and then:
