Phone removing people from groupchats

I am in a fairly large groupchat that is used to plan events between friends, recently every time someone is added or messages in the group I get on and it shows that I have removed multiple people from the chat, and that right after some else adds them back in. My messages are the only one that shows that this is happening. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?
