I just installed the MAC OS 15.1 to my MAC desktop and it deleted all of my files / photos I have saved on my desktop!!!! I don't think I have my desktop linked to the cloud??? HELP. How can i recover my files.

I suggest that you double-check this first. Based on what you described, it does appear that this was enabled.
If if wasn't then hopefully you have been making regular backups with either Time Machine or another third-party backup solution. You can then try restoring these files from one of these.
