Photo amount not working

Hello , I have about 45 photos on my phone and small amount of videos , yet my storage is going up and up even after I delete all the photos I recently just took and my phone is emptying a lot because of it , it affects several apps including editing apps , camera and so on that j have not checked yet , if you can please check this out it would really help .
