A problem with Reminders and End date

I find the instructions for Reminders ambiguous. Say I have a doctor's appointment on the 20th May. I will set a reminder on the 19th May and set it to repeat hourly so that I get it on the morning of the 20th and don't forget it and I am well-primed and ready for it. But if I set the Repeat to end on the 20th, will I see it on the morning of the 20th? I've missed appointments which I thought I had set up Reminders for. End dates consist of 24 hours so it matters whether a reminder ends at the start of the end date or the end of the end date. Thanks for clarifying if you can.
