Why does my IPhone keep saying sos?

I’ve had this iPhone for a little while, but this issue is getting out of hand. I use cellular data, and usually it works, but lately my home keeps switching back and forth to SOS and cellular data. I thought I was the only one until my mother and a coworker of mines had the same issue, causing me to also not take any calls. Is there something going on with IOS? Or is it just an issue in my area?
