What digital formats are compatible with Apple (pls read full description)

So I have this thumb drive that I use with my iPad and I store all sorts of stuff on it (memes, funny videos from my camera roll, etc) and I go to use it on my android phone to look at some of the memes I saved to it and it says that I need to re format the friggin thing to use it and that left me wondering if there are any formats that are compatible with Apple or if I can only use it with Apple devices now? Like can I access the files, photos, or videos on it if I were to hook it up to my chromebook, a pc, other non Apple devices, etc, you get the idea.

(Also by photos I mean screenshots)

also is there any way to see when the thumb drive was accessed on an iOS device (like timestamps and whatnot)? This is just a random question I have and i figured since this post is about thumb drives why not just ask it since it’s also related to thumb drives

What says you need to reformat? The Android device?

If so, then it means it is formatted for the iPad, but maybe not the Android device.

iPads can access drives formatted as fat32, exFat, HFS+ and APFS.

What is the thumb drive currently formatted as?

No, there is no way to know when a thumb drive was accessed by a specific device.
