Why is my apple lightning headphone jack adapter not working?

after just two weeks, my adapter has broken. usually they last at least six weeks before breaking. either way, that's just not good enough. my old JVC wired headphones lasted me for 4 years with no problems. this is simply unacceptable.

the problem is that, everything looks fine, but the sound cuts in and out whenever handling the phone. this progresses to eventually the sound cutting out completely. this seems to be due to the connections between the wire and two heads being incredibly flimsy and movable, and so whenever it the position of the phone is slightly altered, the wire connection moves and cuts the connection to the sound.
