Live Speech Save Phrases Error

I’m unable to delete a large chunk of my saved phrases for the Live Speech Accessibility feature. I’ve deleted all categories and recent phrases, but all of the phrases I had saved pre-iOS 18 cannot be deleted. Has anyone else found this issue or how to fix it?

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 18

If you haven't already:

Wondering if updating your iOS version to the recently released iOS 18.1 version may help.

(NB: It is wise to back up your iphone data before updating. iOS)

More info: About iOS 18 Updates - Apple Support

Eg: says "This update introduces the first set of features powered by Apple Intelligence"

As Apple users, like yourself, community members have no access to the feedback that Apple receives on any issue. So, unless someone replies directly to you here, or another community member starts a discussion thread on the same topic, we have no way of knowing.

Re: "how to fix it?"

Apple support's article : Use Live Speech on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch - Apple Support

says:

"To remove a favorite phrase:

  1. Open the Settings app. Tap Accessibility, then tap Live Speech.
  2. Tap Favorite Phrases.
  3. Tap Edit.
  4. Tap the Remove button next to the phrase that you want to delete, then tap Delete."

NB: Doesn't seem to say whether or not you can remove "a large chunk" in one go, so, likely not.

If, after updating to iOS 18.1 you can still not delete saved phrases as above,

you might want to send feedback to Apple:

ie: To provide feedback about an accessibility feature on an Apple product,

email the Accessibility team: accessibility@apple.com.

All the best :-)
