Personal Voice setup not working on my Mac OS 15.1 - bug in initial Apple code
When I try to set up a personal voice using System Settings > Accessibility > Personal Voice > Create
(1) I enter my password/Touch ID
(2) Incorrectly the code says to check internet connection. "A one-off download of 233 MB is required to continue with Personal Voice creation." Code has a cancel button and a blue "wifi settings" button. When I click on the wifi button it just exits out of personal voice. The cancel button is no better.
Why does the message just refer only to WiFi? This seems like the developer that wrote this "trap" is rather parochial. I assume they have messed up their logic somewhere - this Apple code should be reviewed.
My Mac like many machines has an Ethernet as well as WiFi connection. I currently have an Ethernet down 90 Mbit/up 20 Mbit connection and Wifi down 50 Mbit/up 17 Mbit connection. So no good reason for the error message. The error occurs with all combinations of network settings.
What is the work around this bad piece of Apple code?
Why hasn't it been fixed? I see it has been present for >>12 months in previous Mac OS 14.
