Apple TV not releasing iPhone when I use AirPlay

I posted this a week ago. The thread has disappeared. That thread should not have been deleted. The solution given appeared to work initially but that has not proven to work permanently.

With the phone connected to my home Wifi, and I use the Remote app to control one of my 5 apple TV's it works fine. But the phone will not let me use it's internal speaker to listen to anything on the phone.

Even with the settings in General, Airplay & Handoff all turned off, the iPhone gets stuck on the Apple TV and I have to shut off WiFi to get the phone to play on it's speakers.

This is a bug.

My work around is to shut off WiFi on the phone every time I get done using it as a remote, or just not use that app.

Bug. Not a feature.

Fix it.
