Hearing aids. More volume.

At a noisy restaurant, my five-year-old Oticon hearing aids provide higher volume, but at the expense of very poor background noise suppression. Conversation is difficult to discern. On the other hand, the AirPods Pro 2 are able to nicely reduced background noise, but don’t provide enough volume when set at 100% for me. If you could add somewhat greater volume to the AirPod Pro 2’s, but maintain close to your degree of background noise suppression this would be a great help to me. I have mild to moderate hearing loss at 43-39. Yes, I tried conversation boost, but this doesn’t cut it. The volume obtainable while listening to music and media is much greater than what your hearing aids function offers. Thanks.

Hi BobbieGWhiz

As we are all apple users, like yourself, in the community, Apple is unlikely to see your comments here.

We'd like to help, however:

Apple makes a web-form available for feedback: Feedback - AirPods - Apple

If you aren't already using it, seems there is provision to upload an audiogram to the Health app, to assist with hearing on iPhone / AirPods: you can then use your audiogram data to customize audio settings.

More info: Customize headphone audio levels on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Also: Apple has recently made more hearing features available for AirPods Pro 2 if they are:

✽. updated to the latest firmware, and

✽ paired with an iPhone which has the newest update iOS 18.1 installed

You can check whether the three new features are available in your country or region:

See: AirPods Pro 2 - Hearing Health Feature Availability - Apple

If available:

If needed, you can :Take a Hearing Test with AirPods Pro 2 - Apple Support

For those over 18 years with "perceived mild to moderate hearing loss".

You can: Use the Hearing Aid feature on your AirPods Pro 2 - Apple Support

Also: (US and Canada only). : Use Hearing Protection with your AirPods Pro 2 - Apple Support

All the best:-)
