Screen time bug

I use macbook pro 15 inch mid 2014. I am on version 11.7.10. Whenever my screen time limit kicks in and i try to use garageband, I cannot ask for more time or enter the passcode. I cannot even quit it. The only thing I can do is force quit. This is not the case with any other apps. I would like to know how to avoid this
