My MBP laptop (Sonoma), which travels around to many places, has logged many networks with the wifi passwords for each. Somewhat mysteriously, my iMac (also Sonoma), which NEVER goes anywhere, has all of those same networks in it's network list. Duh? That iMac has NEVER been logged into those other networks. It's never been to those places. How is that network listing shared? Is this an iCloud deal, as with Contacts?

Yes it's an iCloud deal. It's through iCloud that your various networks are showing up from your other devices.
