I received an email saying my Apple Account was compromised.

Received an email saying I am hacked and asked for money within 24 hours otherwise they release content of my photos, video and personal emails . I just changed my password.

Yeah, that’s likely some variation of the “pervert” spam that’s been going around.


Lots of previous discussions for the “pervert” spam around here, too.


Delete it, and move on. No breach, no leak, no virus, no videos, nothing.


Just a completely fictional and creatively-written request for money.


Spammers and scammers and phishers lie.


If they had the video, they’d show some of it.


This is also a good lesson in sending email address forgery, which is unfortunately common. These messages usually pretend to be from your own mail account. They’re not. Like spammers and scammers, sending email addresses also cannot be trusted.

Just delete and move on with your day. Nothing unusual. It is a common scam with many saying that they are using Pegasus spy software on your computer which is completely false. You didn't even need to change your password, but it is something I would recommend doing occasionally anyways. Many will also spoof the sending email address to make it appear that the email came from your account. That did not happen and is just another scam tactic to scare you.
