Epson printer fail on my MacBook Pro running macOS Sonoma.

MacBook Pro Sonoma 14.5, Epson ET-2850. Almost daily, sometimes hourly, I get the dreaded "Operation couldn't be completed. error 4294957394 (-9902). Only solution I've found that only works occasionally is to restart the modem (I'm working wirelessly), restart the printer, and restart the computer. That just now worked to make the printer work, but immediately after printing I tried to scan and got the same error code. I have re-installed the printer driver, deleted and re-installed the printer, no joy. Dumpster may be the next step!
