photo app cannot find the duplicate photo in utilities selection

This is where Duplicates usually resides in Utilities:
It will take some time for Photos to scan its Library hunting duplicates, and the Duplicates view won't appear until it finds some. If you have no duplicates, then the Duplicates view will not show up.
I had duplicate photos and the duplicate folder under utilities before the iOS 18.1 update. It’s been about 4 days now and I still don’t have the duplicate folder but still have plenty of duplicate photos.
I’ve reset the device and the photos app and still nothing. I’m starting to the think they removed a very useful feature.
How long has it been since you installed iOS 18.1, VAtoAZ? How many photos and videos do you have on your phone? The duplicate scan can take a while, and I'll bet it restarts from scratch every time you update your system.
My iPhone 16 Pro Max does show a Duplicates entry under Utilities (with many entries in my large library).
I agree. I have an iPhone 16 with iOS 18.1 and there is no duplicates tab in utilities. I know I have dupes, so what is going on? I use that feature and losing it is a problem.
