How to access Boot Menu on 2013 Mac Pro?

I have a 2013 Mac Pro (6,1) trash can. If I let it boot nromally I get the OS image fine on my HDMI monitor and it works fine. However if I hold down the OPTION key after hearing the startup chime I only get a black screen and no boot menu. It appears there is no HDMI signal if I hold down the OPTION key after hearing the dchime. ANy ideas?

Not reallly.. Twoheartsinthedark… try doing an SMC reset and 3-4 pram zaps on startup or try “Safe mode” ( reboot , holding down “shift” key on keyboard … until you see “ safe mode” on your screen… anyways, here’s how to do the first one: https://www.macworld.com/article/224955/how-to-reset-a-macs-nvram-pram-and-smc.html… and safe mode:
