RCS messaging disappeared in iPhone 15 after iOS 18.1 update

On October 28th I updated my iPhone 15 to iOS 18.1 from iOS 18. Today when I went to text my Android friend, I discovered RCS messaging was gone. It was there yesterday. I went into the messages app to see if RCS was shut off, but there is no RCS switch to toggle on. I also went into carrier settings, I’m with Koodo and discovered there was no RCS option there either. I tried rebooting my iPhone, taking out SIM card, and resetting network settings. I will call Koodo tomorrow, but did anyone else have this issue with the update yesterday?

Yes I have the same issue, on top of that I can no longer use my group chat in messages (they see what I type, but I don’t get their answers) these other users have RCS turned on, I have done all the resets, reloads etc etc (iPhone 11, iOS 18.1, Koodo 60.1) and RCS will not appear

from everything i can find online the issue is with koodo itself if you go into settings/about and look at your ims with koodo its only voice/sms after the 18.1 update i have been on hold with koodo for a while now to try to figure out why but the reddit forums are pretty much all koodo members with the issue hopefully they will push out a carrier update to fix the issue

Koodo called me back yesterday. I went through all the general questions and necessary reboots. The only reboot I refused to do was a factory reset which would wipe out my work stuff. Koodo said it was an Apple problem. Hopefully they work together for a solution for the next update. I did send an Android friend pictures and a video and everything went through clear. She did the same and her stuff came through clearly for me. We were both able to click on pictures and send reactions to each other. I don’t have typing, or read indicators.

my iPhone seems to be fine with RCS and reactions etc after the iOS 18.1 update. However, my iPad Pro, after I updated to iPados 18.1 is missing the entire RCS option in Messages app settings. This was working beautifully prior to the update.

I don’t know what Komodo is… I use the core apps for the iPad and iPhone. Therefore I am thinking that this is an Apple issue.
