spotlight completely unreliable and buggy
Apple, when people search for things this does not mean they want to open it! 90% of the time I want to know where the file is so I can drag it onto a web app or open it in a specific program not it's one default program. Most of the time when I hold down Command, not only does the path not show up but it loads it into the default program. Such a core part of using a computer is finding your files, WHERE THEY ARE AT! And why for the love of everything good in this world does open in Finder produce 9 million more results of weird places it might be used in a code file, odd places it finds it in system files. This functionality was better 10 years ago. Yes, sometimes it shows the path underneath. Incredibly bad UX and UI....
How does the team that built this horrifically unusable core part of the OS feel like this is a good UX? On to the solution which is find another tool. I am using Raycast. Immediately it shows the folder the file is in which is a huge relief as the is something I may do 50 times a day. Find files. Anybody else have a tool they use to by pass Spotlight?
