Ventura - external display not working

Here's a fix for this common problem. My external display started working when:

  1. I rebooted the computer in safe mode, with external display disconnected (start computer and immediately press Shift, keep holding it until system loads).
  2. Then I connected the ext monitor
  3. Rebooted in normal mode
  4. External display works

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 13.7
