If you can't receive email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
I had the same issue today after I installed ios18.1 Only solution was to delete email account on my iphone and then reinstall.
If you are not sure how to do this, there are tutorials on YouTube. This solved the problem for me very quickly.
