What is a better substitute for Sandvox?

One of my websites was made with iWeb and then Sandvox. Sandvox did work but with constant shut downs until recently. I had started a new website but would like to maintain the old one as well. Is there a suggested app to use so that I can still edit the site? I found Everweb as a substitute but before I started paying for software again I wanted to ask for suggestions.

I mean, your basic choices are stick with Sandvox (OK, it's a throwaway course of action), move to Everweb, Rapidweaver or similar software, or move to a web-based editor like Wordpress or one of the many hosting providers that also provide a Wordpress (or whatever) editor environment.

The combination of viable choices will be based on things like how your hosting, domain registration, etc is currently done (esp if it imposes limitations), how much $$$ you want to spend on tools and/or support to convert the site, and how much regular effort you need to put into site maintenance.

Thx for the reply and insight. I did look into everweb. Sandvox was the most user friendly I have used. I was looking for a stand alone software. We have another site through weebly/square. But it is super cumbersome and not intuitive. I wanted basic organizing but it has so many things you have to do to do a simple task. Currently I can still use sandvox on my desktop but it will not allow me to connect to a host and therefore can no longer up load ftp. I did also follow tutorial for Everweb but it was pretty much useless. Everweb interface is not good at all. Again simple tasks.

Well, if the site is already published and you are just tweaking things or adding posts, I suppose you could keep using Sandvox and manually upload FTP into the server using something like Transmit. Or if it is primarily a blogging website there are tools like MarsEdit which are optimized for blogging and integration into Wordpress, Tumblr, Moveable Type, etc.

I will say that I never found Weebly/Square that cumbersome personally - although I did have other problems with it related to the back-end. But obviously that is a system optimized for online stores even if it allows for other kinds of pages.

What is a better substitute for Sandvox?
