Control + Return no longer starts a new line in Numbers

Control + Return to start a new line in the same cell doesn't work in Numbers anymore like it has for years and years. Now it's Option + Return... Is there a way to change it back, this is completely interrupting my productivity?

TBH, I thought it was always option-return. At least that's been the advice I've been giving out for a while.

Either way, there's no built-in way to override this since ctrl-key actions are not recappable in the standard OS.

There are third-party tools, though, that can enable this (and any other keyboard combination you can think of).

Check out Karabiner as one of my favorites. It has many features beyond this, so don't be overwhelmed by it's options, but it will certainly let you remap this key combo.
